Staying in a wonderful condo on the shores of Lake Taupo. Fully equipped, free bikes, golf clubs and kayaks. On our way to a welcome barbie down by the out door pool. Yes there is an indoor pool.
Had a great day yesterday. Had hoped to climb Mount Manganui but it was closed due to "slip slides". Stopped at Huka falls breathtaking view and we did get lots of pictures which we hope to post hopefully today.
Downtown Lake Taupo is a 5 minute walk. We are feeling like lunch, just have to decide if we want to go to McDonalds,Subway,Burger King or Pizza Hut

ReplyDeleteLake Taupo sounds just delightful. Free bikes, kayaks, golf clubs.. what more could you ask for? The only part that might deter me is the Barbie that welcomes you to the outdoor pool. Although I feel satisfied with my less than ideal figure, I think a Barbie sunning her already permanently tanned body, would make even the most self confident woman re-evaluate her own physical standards. Now, I'm sure Papa John would never stoop to such a level as to “check out the Barbie” but how can we really be sure he's not being “welcomed” by her right now? For all we know it was Barbie who requested the National Forest Service close Mt. Manganui just so she and Papa john could hang out by the pool and do the “slip slide.” You know... that yellow strip of plastic that you secure with tent stakes, then spray with the garden hose before running and sliding yourself over the plastic then onto the lawn at full speed. Now, I'm not saying you should feel insecure in anyway.... I'm just saying that if I were you I would check Papa John for grass stains.

P.S. As for lunch: Go with Mc Donalds. I hear they have a delicious seared chicken sweet chili wrap : )
